Deck Repair & Rebuilding
Deck Repair & Rebuilding in the Sacramento Area
Peak Construction evaluates aging or damaged decks and helps homeowners decide whether a focused repair, a rebuild or a new deck makes the most sense for the property.
Build, Repair or Rebuild?
Repair It, Rebuild It or Start New?
Some decks need only a focused repair. Others have enough deterioration that rebuilding makes more sense. New deck projects start with the property, layout and how the homeowner plans to use the space. If you are deciding whether an existing deck can be saved, read Deck Repair vs. Rebuilding: When Can a Deck Be Saved?.

Repair May Make Sense When
- damage is limited to specific boards or components;
- the primary structure remains serviceable;
- localized dry rot can be removed and rebuilt cleanly;
- the current layout still works for the homeowner.
Rebuilding May Make Sense When
- deterioration is widespread;
- multiple structural components need replacement;
- the existing layout no longer fits the intended use;
- repairing in pieces would not be practical.
What We Evaluate
Deck Problems Are Often a Combination of Structure, Exposure and Use

Deteriorated Wood
Soft, split or visibly decayed wood can indicate localized or broader repair needs.
Loose or Aging Components
Boards, stairs, railings and connections should be reviewed as part of the overall deck condition.
Water Exposure
Repeated moisture at transitions and elevated exterior areas can affect adjacent wood and waterproofing details.
Process
